Trichocereus Santaensis ~*

From Backebergs Trichocereus Lexicon, T. santaensis Rauh & Backbg. (1)
Ba. branching from the base, to S m h., greyishgreen, slightly frosted; branches to 15 cm 25; Ri. 7, broad, flat, with a V-notch over the Ar.; Rap. 2-3, 2—3 cm long., brownish; Csp. mostly 1, to 4 cm long., coloured similarly; Fl. ?; buds with black H.— Central Peru (Rio Santa valley, Puente Bedoya, c. 3000 in).

This is a really special cacti from the central highlands area of Peru. I was lucky enough to recieve 2 seedlings from the same seed batch via a special fb offer Herbalistics.com.au was running. There where only 5 on offer so I jumped all over it. You don't see this cacti come around too often, especially down under. Pretty sure they are from Sacred Succulent seed. One of the seedlings is a much faster grower than its sibling, as you will see in the pics below. They are just starting to come out of the seedling stage and put on some real character. It will be interesting to learn more about this cacti as it grows. They look to be little stunners. Here's some pics, enjoy :)
