Trichocereus Tacaquirensis ~*

From Backebergs Trichocereus Lexicon, T. tacaquirensis Vpl.) Card. (1)
Ba. mostly branching from the base, to 2.5 in
branches fairly crowded, steeply ascending; Ri. variable in number, 2 cm h.; Sp. numerous, scarcely differentiated into Csp. and Rsp., ± bristle-like, especially at first, ± interlacing, flexible, to 8 cm long., those in the crown erect; Ar. large, round, white-felty; Fl. to 20cm long., white.— Bolivia (Tacaquira).

This comes from Fields Cactus Farm where the proprieter Robert tells me he thinks he recieved it via Ritter, but wasn't 100% sure. He said he would have to check his records. If so that would make it the T. Tacaquirensis FR72 from Tacaquira Bolivia 2800m. I'm not too fussed really, who ever it originates from it's an amazing looking plant. The spination is really cool on this little battle tank of a cactus. Don't see these around too often, and it's defenitly a favorite. Love the look of it ~*

26th, March, 2012 Update~* New pics. Really like this plant, those spines! :)

24th, April 2012 Update~*

Got some pics of another tacaquirensis plant out at Fields Cactus Farm, is a crazy looking plant that has fallen over and continued to grow. Is pretty hard grown which has caused it to get a little freaky. Also some new pics of my cut showing the spines turning a red'ish tinge in the rain, cool trait I think :)
