This plant goes by a couple of different names down here. Also known as 'Cordobensis' although this is an unrecognized name that appears to have come about as a marketing tool more than anything, has also been known as 'Lance', 'Shaman Bob' and 'Spiny Scopulicola' amongst a few others. It comes from Cactus Country in northern Victoria, but where they got it who knows.
I got mine through 2 different sources, the 1st pictured I picked up at Bunnings a local hardware store and the 2nd through a private collector. I hope to be visiting Cactus Country in the near future and will get some pics of the plants out there. Really fat, stocky plant. Quite a fast grower. Very distinct plant whatever you choose to name it. Can become quite gluacus, and the club like shape of the new growth make it a really cool looking plant. Here's some pics :)
