Erythroxylum Australe 'Splityard Creek' ~*

Got this from Herbalistics.com.au last autumn. It is a shrub or small tree in dry rainforest north from the McPherson Range (NSW/QLD border). It also occurs in the Northern Territory. One or two sub-species of E. Australe possibly exist, one is Erythroxylum sp. 'Splityard Creek' which has wider leaves and veins which do not loop as much as E. australe. The leaves contain meteloidine, which is also found in Datura Metel. Chewing the leaves is reported to result in an unpleasant constriction of the throat. Took a long time to do anything. Kicked off this summer with the warmer weather. Survived winter fine here, just stayed dormant. I've got it in part shade and it seems to like it, doesn't need much water ~*
